Frances founded Frances McKay Illustration in 1999 with a small select group of artists, and now represents 20 plus illustrators, based in the UK and abroad. Frances McKay trained as a designer and worked for many years for publishing companies in London as a designer and art director.
During this time she became addicted to illustration for children's books, and worked with illustrators right across the disciplines, from non-fiction titles to picture books, and novelty books to trade fiction. Frances has especially enjoyed working with young graduates and helping to develop their careers. So in becoming an agent this was one of her main aims, to find young talented artists and turn them into successful professional illustrators.
Frances McKay Illustration now works with all the major publishing houses and with the smaller independent companies both here and in USA.
