A new book from Henning is looking good and is proving to be quite a spectacle.
"The Cricket with Glasses", written by Bernd Penners, published by Ravensburger Buchverlag, is my second board book. It is about the embarrassment of wearing glasses, and how to overcome it. Published at the beginning of January it is already in its second edition, obviously having hit a spot.
I enjoy making board books, the pictures have to be straight forward, and often they have fewer pages, so that they are great 'gap fillers' in between other picture books, with more text and pictures. The challenge was to draw a young, sympathetic cricket, the end result you can see here...
