In September my latest book (cover) is going to be released. This is my first book cover for 10-year-old boys. When Maya Geis, my editor from Oetinger Publishing House called me on the phone I was very surprised. She had only seen my illustrations for small children and my newspaper illustrations. But she said she thought I would do a good job on this bookcover, so I felt encouraged to do my best on it.
Right from the first roughs Oetinger were very pleased with all my ideas and Mrs Geis was very supportive. I also did some black and white vignettes for the inside of the book later on.
The book by Nathan Luff has already been published in Australia by Scholastic Press. The bookcover of the original australian book has been illustrated by Stella Danalis.
A few days ago I got my copies of ?Nichts fuer Weicheier?. I placed them right on my desk to see them every time I look up from drawing...
