It has been quite a while since I did a blog post – and now that it comes to it; rather than offering a new drawing, I’m offering a short film. This short film tells a disappointing year in the life of a book.
Though they might often be our most treasured possessions, it is remarkable how easily books can be neglected, mistreated and sometimes even lost. I try to read as much as I can, however it seems that more and more frequently I rely on computers rather than papers for the news, and when drawing, often overlook libraries and reference books for wikipedia, or google image searches.
Watching films seems to sometimes override the need to read fiction as well. I doubt I’m alone in this regard, but I hope it’s just a phase. Otherwise the stack of disappointed books is likely to grow.
