I have drawn two designs for a card which I'm doing for The Pink Place in Basingstoke. This is a charity which offers free support, information and complementary therapies to people who have or have had breast cancer in this area & is supported by the breast unit at Basingstoke and North Hampshire hospital http://www.thepinkplace.org.uk/
Christmas isn't over yet, so to continue on the theme here is just a few of the more than fifty cards, posters and ceramic designs Mandy Pritty has produced for The Art Group.
I am happily busy with lots of commissions for pictures and cards - am currently working on a wedding picture and a birthday one and have recently done my first Civil Partnership card.
One of my recent kind dog ventures has been custom making birthday cards - my oldest subject being 100 years old and the youngest 2.
I fell into it accidentally, having posted birthday card samples I'd done a few years ago on my kind dog Facebook page (these were for submission to card companies - all of whom rejected me - even Phoenix cards turned me down). Putting them on Facebook led to lots of requests. They are fun to do though I am very bad at cutting the watercolour paper neatly and in a straight line. It isn't going to make me much money as I suspect the time and effort far exceeds the money I ask but I think just the act of making, drawing and thinking can lead to inspiration and ideas for other, possibly more lucrative projects. This week I spent more time than planned on small illustrations for my 4-year-old son Anton. On Monday the 15th we have a special day called "Rosenmontag" in Germany which is one of the main days of Germans "Karneval". On this specialized monday all children can wear costumes at kindergarden. Anton decided to go dressed as a postman.
So I need some postcards he can deliver to other children in kindergarden. This rocket-boy is one of these postcard figures which the children can colour if they want to. As I worked on it I decided to add it to the main page of my webpage, which I am redesigning at the moment. This is my first idea on how it might look like. I will let you know as soon as the redesigned page is up!
